United SA Credit Union is experiencing some exciting changes! Over 60 years ago, we were established to exclusively serve the employees of USAA. Over the years, our field of membership has expanded and today we serve people in Bexar, Kendall, and Comal County. To reflect this expansion, we are changing our name to United Texas Credit Union. We will continue our dedication to quality, improving our members’ financial well-being, and our commitment to the communities we serve.
In 2005, we converted to a community charter, which expanded our Field of Membership to anyone who lives, works, worships, attends school and businesses and other entities in Bexar County. Last year, we were granted an additional charter change to include Kendall County and the portion of Comal County that lies west of U.S. Highway 281.
With these changes, our name is no longer accurately describes our membership qualifications. Our Board of Directors believes that keeping the old name is an obstacle to our future growth so our Board and senior management team made the decision to change our name. While our name is changing, you can rest assured that what won’t change is our commitment to you.
Effective April 1, 2017, our name will officially become United Texas Credit Union.
From our beginnings in 1955 as a single-sponsor credit union to today, we are over 18,000 members strong. Our success is the result of your continued support.
In April, United Texas Credit Union will start to appear on correspondence, signage, and collateral materials. For a time, you will see both the United SA and the United Texas Credit Union logos on printed materials and in our branches as we go through our transition.
As we move forward, we will do what we have always done: strive to become the ultimate financial cooperative by enhancing members’ lives through exceptional financial services.
Our change to United Texas Credit Union requires no action on your part.
All of our products and services will work as they always have. Your account information will remain the same, and you will continue to receive the same exceptional service from our staff. As we work through this process, new checks and credit cards will be updated automatically when you order.
